Books are CLOSED!

will open mid-December for January 2025

Booking INFO

  • My name is Dayi (dah-YEE) and I am a licensed tattoo artist! I work out of a private studio in NYC.

I work Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays from 12-5pm.

My studio welcomes disabled folks, LGBTQ+, sex workers, horse girls, bimbos himbos gamers furries as long as you are 18+

I do not sell my designs.

    I do not reserve designs.

I only use nitrile gloves, vegan cruelty-free inks. Eternal for color, Kurosumi for black.

I only do machine tattoos, no handpokes.

  • I allow up to 3 tattoo designs per session.

I allow up to 3 friends to request tattoo sessions together back-to-back.

I prioritize arm placements. If I agree to a non-limb placement (ie: ribs, torso, back) an additional $50-$100 will be added to your quote. These placements take an extra toll on my own body.

I do not tattoo hands, ears, feet, or side/front of neck.

If you plan on driving, plan on arriving early to grab street parking.

Let me know if you'd like to bring a friend.

Let me know if you are a wheelchair user. The building is accessible; just give me a heads up so I can prepare to operate the freight elevator.

Let me know if you are sensitive to smells. I normally have a light eucalyptus scent diffused and also use Madacide in my cleaning process which has an unavoidably strong alcoholic smell.

    Shoes off in the studio.

  • I book 1 month at a time, 1 month ahead.

Sign up for email alerts to know the minute the booking link goes live.

The form consists of 3 parts:

BASIC: Name; Pronouns; Email; IG handle; First Tattoo (y/n)

DESIGN: Flash Code #/Freehand Style/Custom Description; Cropped Screenshot of Design/Refs; Sizing; Placement; Color(s); Additional Info

SCHEDULING: First and Second weekday preferences for your appointment; Additional Info: specific dates you can’t make? accessibility needs? scheduling with a friend? ink allergies? BIPOC/AAPI?)

I reply to requests via email with a quote + appointment time. If you do not hear from me within 72 hours, kindly assume your request was denied.

Your Google Calendar event will show the estimated appointment duration.

If your appointment start time does not match the time written on the Google Calendar event, check your time zone… chances are, you’re just currently in a different time zone (ie: CA).

Every tattoo comes with a free touchup! Just dm me on IG when my books are open and we will set something up.

  • My appointment minimum is $300 and my current average quote is $475. My quote includes the NYC 4.5% sales tax and accounts for the value and exclusivity of my work, how limited my time slots are, business expenses, and how I feel in my heart at the moment. If I say a design's worth xyz, it's worth xyz.

I require a non-refundable $100 deposit to book your appointment. This goes towards the total cost of the tattoo (and the drawing of your custom design, if applicable) and can be sent via Venmo or Zelle.

On the day of the appointment, I can take cash, Venmo, Zelle.

Regarding lateness, I schedule clients back to back, up to 8 a day. If life (ie: the MTA) throws you a curveball, just shoot me a dm! I will do my best to still fit you in and just take on a $30 late fee.

Tips are not mandatory but appreciated! I set rates so I can still operate if clients don't tip but most will and it lets me know it was a good experience.

  • If you booked while my books are open and wish to cancel/reschedule while my books are *still open* for the same month - or - if I was the one who requested an appointment change, I will not need a new deposit. Other than these two situations, your deposit is non-refundable.

I will require a new deposit to reschedule, as the old one goes towards finding/vetting a new client that would fit your time slot or compensating the empty appointment if I can’t replace you.

Do your best to show up covid-free, as I treat sickness related appointment changes no differently.

  • All flash drawings are repeatable! Small pieces & fan art will stay available, but I will retire larger complex drawings after booking 1-5 times.

No flash swaps once booked, so fully commit when you send in your form.

My complete collection of almost every flash drawing I've made can be found HERE.

“Dayi Draw This” or (ddt) flash drawings are made in response to prompts given by followers on IG. They operate in the same way as my usual flash, but just wont have any code #s. The full collection can be found on my website. They can be found on flash (ddt) IG highlights and also HERE.

  • Not to be confused with customs -which I design before your appointment- my freehands are drawn directly onto your body during your appointment.

I only do certain things freehand: check the highlights on my IG for the full list of imagery/styles I offer. I can freehand brushstrokes, overlapping ribbons, connected stars, constellations, rivers, nets/threads, spider webs, oysters, butterflies, tulips, trees and strawberries.

  • I turn down almost all custom requests, but feel free to send in your idea. Check “CUSTOMS” when filling out the form (not “FREEHAND”)

Do not upload other artists’ tattoos as a reference. Do not ask me to copy other artists’ work.

I love tattooing your own or your friends’ drawings! I love taking on lettering and typography requests.

ONE round of minor edits is included in your quote, so it will behoove you to be specific in your request. I will show you the final sketch at least 1-2 days before your appointment. A fee of $50 will cover each extra round of edits.

  • See below for cover-up samples. I usually use the abstract textural style to cover up tattoos (especially complicated ones) but if a different form or style could fit well, I'm open to considering other options.

Attach an image of the original tattoo in your booking form when requesting a cover up!

  • Temporary tattoos last up to 15 days (depending on your aftercare.)

The plant-based ink reacts with proteins & keratin in your skin to change its color to dark blue / black after ~24hr (similar to how henna works.)

These look almost as elegant as the real thing (just less shading & texture) -- they are so quick and no skin will be punctured (will still prep skin with alcohol.)

Quotes will range from $25-85 depending on size & complexity.

Inkbox covers all medical expenses if something happens.

I offer 1 redo at half your quote if smudged, but it shouldn't smudge if you follow AFTERCARE.

You can request flash with not too much shading and almost anything I offer in the freehand category. I'm also down to do tiny simple shapes & doodles, lil rainbows and butterflies, your pets, words & letters. You can show up and let me surprise you.

While I wouldn't accept these placements for my usual tattoo work, you can totally request neck, ears, feet, hands. Take advantage!

Temps would be perfect if you want to test out a tattoo, if you’re disabled (ie: lymphedema) and literally can’t get tattoos, if you want to prank someone, or if you aren’t interested in permanency but still want something sick af for the high school reunion later.

To book, fill out a booking form (preferred) OR dm me on IG!

    See AFTERCARE for best results.

Freehand SAMPLES

Cover-up SAMPLES

The abstract freehand style pictured below is the main style I take on for cover-ups. To request, upload a picture of your current tattoo. This style is my favorite and reminds me of meteor impacts, dripping caves, landscapes and flowing water.

TEMPORARY TATTOO SAMPLES

Temporary tattoos last up to 15 days, depending on your skin and how often you shower.

FOR PALESTINE

I am dedicated to contributing what I can to help the Palestinian people as violence escalates in Gaza and the West Bank. I am using flash events and specifically made tattoo designs to spread awareness and raise funds — As of October 2024, Studio OUCH! has donated around $3993 to UNRWA, Anera, Open Collective, and various mutual aid funds. In line with this commitment, I have implemented a few ways clients can help me provide aid:

(1) If you need to reschedule to attend a Palestine protest/march, we can work to find a new date without forfeiting your deposit. I will also return your deposit if you need to cancel.

(2) If you make a donation of $50+ to one of these organizations after setting up a tattoo appointment with me, I will subtract $50 from your tattoo quote. This effectually allows me to contribute monetary aid through my income.
