Studio OUCH! is brought to you

by me: Dayi (dah-YEE), she/her

I graduated from The Cooper Union School of Art during the height of Covid with my drawing, painting, animating, bookbinding, typeface designing, big brain thinking skills. I tasted the sour sweet life of corporate work at a graphic design agency… but quickly said yuck no thanks. Instead, I decided to use my strengths to start my own thing!

There’s OUCH! Studio Magazine, a colorful, joyful arts publication, where I take on submissions regardless of experience or skill level. Drawings, paintings, photography, poetry, stories, recipes, essays, letters, screenplays, playlists, research findings…anything printable is welcome! I’ve run 12 issues so far, with each having its own theme that ties the content together.

And, ofc there’s my private tattoo studio where I slap drawings onto 3-8 people a day, from 12-5pm, 4 days a week. I am licensed and am coming up on 3000 appointments!

Occasionally, I take on freelance projects to keep my brain from disintegrating, and during my own hours I knit, make clay things, paint, read read read, plan, scheme, etc. I always try to keep a current sketchbook and an extremely detailed log of every notable thing I do every day. Oh, and I was valedictorian in high school.
